Educational tours to Russia
Russia is a perfect and unique destination for school and college groups. Whether your students study history, art, geography, architecture, music or the Russian language itself, a trip to Russia will open up a whole new world to your classes. The difference in culture, in history, in language, the warmth and friendliness of the locals and the excitement of actually standing on Red Square will be an experience that your students will remember for the rest of their lives.
As Russia becomes more and more tourist friendly, it is easier to arrange customised school trips. Hotels are being renovated, the number of new restaurants and cafés is on the increase, monuments are being cleaned and in general both Moscow and St. Petersburg are developing into major, modern tourist destinations. With one foot in the past and the other firmly and confidently stepping into the future, you can now learn about important historic events in the Hermitage museum, then take a break and send an email home while enjoying a cappucino.
What we offer
We offer a standard 6 day tour called “Russian Classic” which covers all the major sights of these two very different capital cities and presents a great introduction to Russia. However, we are very flexible with our itineraries and if you would like to create a tour that concentrates on a particular area of Russian history, art, architecture or ballet, we will be glad to advise you.
At Russian City Breaks, we are all passionate about everything Russian. We have all studied the language and culture and travelled extensively in Russia. We believe that we can offer your students a perfect combination of culture, history and fun to make this a trip of a lifetime for them.
In addition to being accompanied by our professional English-speaking local guides in both Moscow and St. Petersburg we can also provide you with one of our expert bi-lingual Tour Managers. He or she will meet you and your group at the airport on arrival in Russia and be with you until you fly home. They will stay at the hotels with you and also travel on the overnight train with your group. They are there to answer any questions and ensure your trip runs smoothly, leaving you to relax knowing you’re in safe and knowledgeable hands.
We try to visit all our clients at their schools. It’s a good chance to get to know each other before the trip and discuss your expectations. When possible, we can also come to your school or college and talk to your students (and parents) about their upcoming trip to Russia.
Thank you for choosing Russian City Breaks. We look forward to seeing you in Russia!
Dear Ben and all the RCB Team,
Just returned to a very sunny and warm England after our second trip to Moscow & St Petersburg. I wanted to let you know we had a FABULOUS time. 2007 was great but the 2009 trip was even better. The girls told me it was the best school trip they had ever done (and they are very discriminating customers as you can imagine!). The guides were exceptionally helpful and professional making it easy for the teachers to enjoy a stress-free exerience. Moscow and St Petersburg offer such an embarrassment of riches making it hard to describe all we saw and to know that we only really scratch the surface of these cities, especially St Petersburg, makes the experience even more awesome in the literal sense of the word.
The highlights of the trip for me were the Armoury in the Kremlin, Red Square at night and simply everything about St Petersburg! The girls LOVED the folk show! The meal beforehand with the pianist and the grand surroundings made for a wonderful evening. I overheard a number of girls say it was the best evening's entertainment... ever! These are girls who go up to shows in London very regularaly too.
The hotel Pribaltiskaya was superb. After the night train the girls fell on the breakfast there like a swarm of locusts and told me they loved me!!! The hotel's refurbishment since 2007 has made it an excellent place to stay with upgraded bedrooms and bathrooms (a contrast to The Cosmos!).
