Day 2 Full day St Petersburg

After breakfast leave for a comprehensive sightseeing tour of this former capital city. Amongst many beautiful sights, see St Isaac’s Cathedral, the Church of the Spilt Blood, rivalling the beauty of St Basil's in Moscow, the Bronze Horseman, the remarkable battleship "Aurora" and Peter the Great’s log cabin - still standing since 1703! Cross the Neva river for a guided tour of the historic Peter and Paul Fortress, burial place of the Romanovs and see why Peter the Great chose this ideal location for the foundation of St. Petersburg. After lunch, enjoy a cultural visit to a Russian school and meet some local students!*

Day 3 Full day St Petersburg

Today visit the Hermitage, one of the world's finest art museums, housed in the opulent, baroque Winter Palace. Your guide will highlight the most important works of art, as you would need several years to see everything! After some lunch on Nevsky Prospekt tour Kirov’s apartment, kept exactly as it was since Communist times. This evening you will have the option of experiening a traditional Russian Folklore Show in the magnificent setting of the graceful Nikolayevsky Palace!*

Day 4 Full day St Petersburg

This morning visit the beautiful interiors of the Yusupov Palace, the residence of the respected Yusupov family and the scene of Rasputin’s murder! In the afternoon head over to the Russian Museum for a guided tour of the largest most complete collection of Russian art.*

Day 5 Return home

After check out, travel south to the small town of Tsarskoe Selo, formerly known as Pushkin after the famous poet who once studied here. Tour inside the magnificent Catherine Palace, see the splendid Amber Room and stroll through the beautiful gardens. Then, in the afternoon, transfer to the airport for your flight home.

* Evening Activities

We suggest a visit to the Ballet, a night of bowling, a traditional Russian Folklore show, an evening at the circus, and/or a sporting event (if you are lucky enough to be in St. Petersburg during an ice hockey, basketball or football game). We will contact you nearer your departure date with the schedule for any such performances or events. These can be booked and paid for in advance, but are not included in our initial tour quote. Your local guide can help you make a bowling reservation in St. Petersburg and you should pay for this on the evening, to the bowling alley.
